The SEO Director is a senior client management position in the organization responsible for managing strategy, conducting some execution, overseeing a team of 3-5 employees, communicating with clients, and conducting analysis for all of our clients.

Key Management Areas of Responsibility

  • Managing client relationships, business needs assessments, search engine marketing efforts and client-level projections
  • Managing SEO efforts from team of 3 - 5 people, with ultimate accountability for integrated client results across all SEO products and services
  • Define requirements, tasks, and resources associated to SEO strategy
  • Manage and execute implementation of SEO strategy
  • Communication to clients, team, and management on strategy/project development, timelines, and results
  • Collaborate on client strategy and goal definition for success
  • Keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and development
  • Contributing to organizational operations beyond basic job requirements (e.g., methodology development, recruiting, process redesign, tool improvements, blog writing)

Key Functional Areas of Responsibility

  • Developing and implementing online search engine marketing strategies to achieve client objectives and supporting account management team
  • Developing, executing and monitoring effective online marketing campaigns, specifically using search engines as the delivery vehicle for obtaining targeted leads and acquisitions
  • Performing in-depth quantitative analysis of search marketing campaigns and identifying more advanced analysis areas for analysts
  • Providing frequent progress reports regarding online marketing efforts and related performance metrics to clients
  • Review and drive strategy behind keyword research in coordination with client business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages
  • Provide recommendations and execute/manage strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific
  • Help to create and support marketing content to socialize and use for social media purposes (e.g. customer videos briefs, customer case studies, blog posts, posts from analysts and customers)
  • Develop and implement link building campaigns
  • Implement and administer search engine programs (XML sitemaps, shopping feeds, webmaster tools)
  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels in order to improve rankings
  • Monitor and evaluate web analytics dashboards and reports in order to develop and recommend SEO strategies

Professional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • 3+ years of online marketing, direct marketing and/or related strategy work including campaign development and performance analysis at an agency
  • 2+ years demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service, with a strong client-service orientation
  • Bachelor's Degree at a minimum
  • Direct experience in executing SEO programs, experience in SEM is a plus
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Experience working with popular keyword tools (Google, Moz, SEMRush, etc)
  • Experience working with CMS and building/administering content in multiple CMS environments
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administration
  • Strong technical aptitude including some ability to understand basic website technologies
  • Sound business acumen, financial analysis skills, strategic skills and common sense
  • Proven ability to manage projects to successful completion, multi-task and work within tight deadlines
  • Track record of leadership, coaching and mentoring
  • Exceptional creative thinking and problem resolution skills that will contribute value in a dynamic, client-centered environment
  • Ability to work well in a team and to shine as an individual
