How We Help

Helping to Heal

This year, Teknicks held a breast cancer awareness fundraiser called Helping to Heal, which consisted of a yoga class, brunch, inspirational stories from survivors, and a raffle. With the help of local businesses donations Teknicks helped raise a considerable amount of money for Mary’s Place by the Sea. Mary's Place by the Sea provides an innovative approach to caring for women with cancer during and after treatment. It was a wonderful day filled with inspiration and hope for all those affected by cancer. We look forward to making this an ongoing tradition!

Big Brother Big Sister

Three years ago, Teknicks became active in a late-summer beach volleyball tournament to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of New Jersey. The association serves more than 5,000 at-risk children and provides mentoring services to help these children succeed. Each staff member at Teknicks raised money and the proceeds were donated to the association.

One Warm Coat

Last year, our office members binded together to launch a collection drive to benefit "One Warm Coat," an organization that works to make sure that nobody faces the winter without a warm coat. Teknicks staffers took their efforts to the streets, distributing fliers within the local community to collect donated coats. Then, they reached out to others using social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to get the word out in cyberspace. The donations came rolling in and the results were 55 coats that went directly to needy community members. Staffers were so happy with the results that a tradition was born and they look forward to many more winter coat drives.

Brennan Stands Alone

When Lindsay, the director of social media here at Teknicks, took an interest in a local veteran's foundation, the whole social media team jumped on board to help. The team reached out to the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation to offer their management services pro bono. The non-profit foundation is named after Howell veteran Brian Brennan, who was permanently injured in an IED attack in Afghanistan. The foundation raises awareness for veterans and provides financial aid to the families of America's injured soldiers. The social media team took over management of Brennan Stands Alone Facebook page and now works to keep it updated and thriving. The team also helps grow the non-profit's fan base by managing and optimizing its web site.

Sean M. Morris Memorial Golf Benefit

Since its establishment in 1992, the Sean M. Morris Memorial Golf Benefit has donated funds to help sick children and their families cope with the financial hardships that accompany serious illness. One of our SEO experts here at Teknicks volunteers his time to help run the tournament every year with his father. Together, they solicit donations and find golfers willing to participate in the annual fundraising event, in total they've raised over $300,000. Even though not all Teknicks staffers got on the green, they all worked to spread the word and found willing donors and golfers willing to participate. Among the golfers is Teknicks CEO Nick Chasinov

The Team Says:

One Warm Coat is an organization committed to providing coats to men, women, and children who are in need of warm clothing. With the help of our community, we were able to collect more than 50 coats for those in need. It was a great way to focus our hearts and minds on others during the holiday season. I’m looking forward to making it an annual event!

Lauren Totin
Director, Client Management

I have been involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization for the past 2 years and love every minute of it. I was fortunate to have great role models in my life and I wanted to share it with someone who might not have been as fortunate. Over the past couple of years, we have bonded over countless conversations about the past, present and future. Not only does being a Big Sister mean that I am helping someone out and giving back to the community, but it means that I have a great new friendship too.

Jeanine Krzyzanowski
Account Director

It has been a very rewarding experience working with the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation. They are an amazing group of committed, hard working people that have made it their personal goal to make everyone in the nation aware of BSA and its mission in helping wounded veterans and their families. It has now become a personal goal of mine as well, and I will continue to spread the word through Facebook and other social outlets.
